Former CNN and ESPN anchor Fred Hickman’s obituary news was all over the media portals causing an extreme loss in the sports media community. Hickman was an American broadcaster who served as evening anchor and managing editor for African-American cable news called Black News Channel. He also worked with several news media portals like YES Network, TBS, and The New York Times. The anchor joined the original co-host of CNN sports Tonight in 1980 and was awarded CableACE awards in 1989.

He started his professional radio broadcasting career as a news anchor at KLWW-AM in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Fred returned back to his hometown of Springfield, Illinois after graduating from COE college. At age 22, Hickman joined Springfield television as an anchor and sports director at WICS-TV.

As per the exclusive news, he had been suffering from fatal illness complications for a very long time that was continuously harming his inner-body organs. Despite expensive treatments, his body stopped responding to medicines which ultimately became the cause of his death.

Rumors suggest that Fred has been also dealing with serve depression which resulted in taking several medicines and counseling from doctors.
