Pattie Santos Wikipedia

Pattie Santos is yet to be featured on the mainstream Wikipedia page. She was a key vocalist for the band “It’s A Beautiful Day” in the late 1960s.  Santos sang the lead vocals for many hits songs like “White Bird.”

“It’s A Beautiful Day” might have become much more well-known if it weren’t for a coin. The band nearly received an invitation to perform at Woodstock. Bill Graham insisted that Michael Lang put one of the two acts he managed on the bill when Graham and Lang were negotiating for the Grateful Dead to appear.

The band lost the coin toss after Lang listened to a tape of both that bands and became conflicted between the two. Santana, the winning group rose to the frame immediately.
