Robert Berchtold was accused of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and simple assault. Earlier, he had been able to avoid the penalty for his claimed sex offenses against Jan Broberg for several years.
Jan published a book on her correlation with Robert at the beginning of 2004, much to his displeasure. Later, he denied Jan’s accusations and asserted that their connection was only mutual.
The convicted fellow got into legal difficulty after showing up at a stop on Jan’s book tour and hitting a man of her security staff with a minivan. However, he was never held accountable for his actions in court.
